BYD is set to shake up Pakistan’s auto market with the launch of the Shark 6 plug-in hybrid pickup on July 25, 2025. This marks Pakistan’s first-ever hybrid pickup truck, introducing a new era of efficiency and performance in a segment dominated by diesel models.
Though the official price hasn’t been announced, the Shark 6 is expected to fall between Rs. 19 to 20 million, likely higher than conventional fuel-driven models like the Toyota Hilux Revo, ISUZU D-Max, and JAC T9 Hunter, which range from Rs. 10 to 20 million.
However, the Shark 6 is expected to outperform these vehicles in several areas. According to BYD, it features a Hybrid Special 1.5L turbo high-power engine, paired with the BYD Blade battery, delivering 321 kW of power and 650 Nm of torque.
It also comes equipped with advanced features such as Hill Hold Control, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Hill Descent Control, and Auto-Hold—enhancing both safety and driving experience.
With its hybrid technology and robust feature set, the BYD Shark 6 could redefine expectations in Pakistan’s pickup truck market, offering a cleaner, more powerful, and tech-savvy alternative to traditional diesel and petrol options.
