BYD has evolved from a small battery manufacturer to a global leader in electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage solutions, and electric public transport. The company’s name, which stands for “Build Your Dreams,” reflects its mission to pioneer innovative and sustainable technologies. Globally, BYD is recognized for its ability to make EVs affordable without compromising on quality. BYD’s ability to scale production has allowed it to become the world’s largest EV maker by volume, overtaking Tesla in terms of total EV sales in 2022.
BYD in Pakistan
BYD’s entry into Pakistan is set to be well-received, especially as the government is actively supporting EV infrastructure with favorable tariffs and incentives for manufacturers. BYD is being introduced in Pakistan by Mega Motor Company (Private) Limited, a subsidiary of Hub Power Company Private.
Initially, Mega Motor Company has launched three BYD electric vehicles for the Pakistani market: the BYD Seal Premium, BYD Seal Dynamic, and BYD ATTO 3, priced at Rs. 16,990,000, Rs. 14,790,000, and Rs. 8,990,000, respectively. Deliveries for all three models are scheduled to begin in January 2025, marking the start of a new era in Pakistan’s automobile landscape with greater access to affordable, sustainable mobility options.
